As is tradition at the end of season PEBA press conference, GM RJ Ermola took the the podium, after the commissioner stepped down concluding his announcement regarding the Hall of Fame. With only myself (taking notes for my Hall of Fame ESPN article) and Drew Streets’ driver, Huck, left in attendance (who seemed lost) he gave us the exciting run down of the final 2030 League Finances. In the middle of RJ’s 100 slide presentation, Ricky McCoy came in to grab his green binder left behind and quickly ran out of the conference room where donuts and coffee were being served in the room next door. The following information found its way accidentally dictated into my phone while I was working on my Hall of Fame article upload to ESPN:

League Revenue: $4,897,738,525 an increase of $119,003,553 from 2029 (an all-time high since Ermola started tracking in 2024)
League Expenses: $4,682,600,482 down from $4,727,319,452 in 2029.

Net Revenue: $215,138,043

Highest Revenue: Aurora – $274,601,449
Lowest Revenue: Kalamazoo – $103,864,778

Standard Deviation in Revenue – $49,666,880 down from $49,866,998 in 2029
Net Standard Deviation in Revenue after revenue sharing – $34,270,147 down from $34,408,229 in 2029

After the 2 expansion teams, PEBA revenue which was flat last season has climbed to an all time high. We are almost as $5 billion dollar industry. “Great work to all the General Managers who have helped expand our financial power.”

West Virginia Nailed it!!!

Today the West Virginia Alleghenies decided to revamp some of their coaches in the minor leagues.  That included firing pitching Jorge Aguilar from Maine (AA) and then promoting both David Sánchez and Akio Sai.  Doing that left an opening for a new pitching coach in Aruba (R).  While some thought that the team would go […]

PEBA Baseball Books

In this semi-monthly forum, we will review, report and/or analyze books about baseball. Since I’m hosting the site, temporarily, I’ll be focusing on baseball fiction–only because I find so-called “reality” boring. But if you want to discuss nonfiction books about baseball, just send them to me and I will post them. (I will notify the […]
