Exciting Upcoming Promotions at the Chocolate Factory

9/8/2013: Bakersfield, CA – The upcoming series with Tempe is a big series for the Bears with serious playoff implications, but it is also especially important for fans of all ages because of the events and huge promotional giveaways that are going to be given out during all four games of the home stand.  These games are sure to be sold out, but there are still a few tickets left.

Monday, September 9 – Bake McBride Bobblehead and Kid’s Fun Day.

It’s back!  Once again, Bakersfield becomes “Bake”-rsfield as we welcome back fan favorite and most legendary and beloved player to have never played for the Bears, Mr. Bake McBride.  Unfortunately, once again, it is unlikely that Mr. McBride will be available to attend, but all kids are encouraged to get to the Factory early as Yum! Field turns into a wonderland of information about Bake and fun activities honoring him.

Tuesday, September 10 – Dollar Cheese Blintz Day

Join us on Wednesday as the Factory’s head chef Nevada Mach teases the palette of Bakersfield with his exquisite cheese blintzes.  There is no limit on how many blintzes each patron may purchase.  Unlike Dollar Borscht Night, when Nevada insisted on a one bowl of borscht per person limit, this time Chef Mach is letting Bakersfield go crazy and eat as much as they want.  Also, due to the surprising lack of success of Dollar Borscht Night, as well as Dollar Pickle Day and Dollar Prune Danish Night, this may be Chef Mach’s last season at the Factory, so fans who love his magic may want to come if they want a last chance to enjoy the work of this master craftsman.

Wednesday, September 11 – Student ID and Pat LillyCribs” appearance night

All college students with a current student ID and a transcript or class schedule to show they are enrolled and a paid bill to show they are in good standing with the university or college they attend will be given a $2 discount on club seats and field box seats.  Also, one lucky student will win the right to be invited to the home of Pat Lilly for a taping of the Lilly edition of the new hit television program “Cribs”.  That lucky student will be on hand to get a peek at Pat’s Olympic-sized indoor badminton court and will find out before the general public if his much-rumored 16-person seated breakfast nook is indeed fact or fantasy.

Friday, September 12 – Gene Wilder Bobblehead and Fireworks Night

“Do you like the factory, Charlie?’  Join us Friday night as The Chocolate Factory at Yum! Field, the place where dreams do come true, turns from a baseball stadium into a place where the snozberries actually taste like real snozberries.  We’ll honor acting legend Gene Wilder with another bobblehead night.  Stay after the game for a fireworks presentation sponsored by Shoney’s.

West Virginia Nailed it!!!

Today the West Virginia Alleghenies decided to revamp some of their coaches in the minor leagues.  That included firing pitching Jorge Aguilar from Maine (AA) and then promoting both David Sánchez and Akio Sai.  Doing that left an opening for a new pitching coach in Aruba (R).  While some thought that the team would go […]
