“Ronald the Bomber” Day in Duluth
Duluth Warriors Press Release
Friday, June 21, 2013
The Duluth Warriors would like to announce the second promotional date of the 2013 season and celebrate the great first half of right fielder Ronald Elmore. “Ronald the Bomber” is currently tied for the Sovereign League lead with 22 home runs, and his three-homer game against Fargo this week was the first such game this season in the PEBA.
As such, the team will be commemorating Elmore’s Warriors contributions by giving out a limited edition, digitally-signed 2013 Ronald Elmore baseball card to the first 15,000 fans to attend the June 27th game at Doyle Buhl Stadium. Help us open this important four game series against the division-leading Crystal Lake Sandgnats with a bang!
Elmore came to the team through the PEBA Rule 5 draft, selected in the third round after the 2011 season. The lanky left-hander proved those believers in Duluth right by hitting .287 with 20 homers and 12 steals in his rookie season, earning PEBA Player of the Week and Rookie of the Month honors along the way. Elmore has continued his progress by already topping his homer total of last season while playing All-Leather defense in right field. In fact, his 54 runs batted in lead the 2013 Warriors by almost 20 RBI as we near the season’s midpoint!
Show your support on Thursday, June 27th as the Duluth Warriors look to squash the Sandgnats and get your “Ronald the Bomber” card. And while you are at the ballpark, don’t forget to vote for Ronald Elmore at the All-Star Voting pavilion located just inside Gate C!
