NLN Reporter Found
KCNC-TV4 – Get the Whole Story
November 22, 2011: Atlantic City, New Jersey – Ray D. Enzè, reporter for Northern Lights News, has been missing since late April. Police report today that he has been found by Atlantic City Port Police in an old, abandoned warehouse district along the waterfront.
Mr. Enzè disappeared mysteriously back in April, last having been seen after filing his report on an interview he conducted with Aurora Borealis VP of Baseball Operations Chris Rodriguez. Colorado State police, in conjunction with the sheriffs’ departments from both Arapahoe and Douglas counties, turned up leads suggesting that Enzè had suddenly and unexpectedly gone to Atlantic City. To this day, it is unknown why he did.
Mr. Enzè was found unconscious, and it appears he was left for dead within an old warehouse that police were investigating as part of a routine drug and gambling investigation. The warehouse and land have not been in use for over 40 years and are seriously dilapidated and overgrown. The property is currently owned by an organization believed to have close ties with a local Polish mob. It is not known if Enzè being found there is an indication that his disappearance is related to organized crime.
Police summoned an ambulance immediately and Mr. Enzè was taken to Atlantic City Medical Center, where he continues to be monitored. He was in an extremely emaciated condition and severely dehydrated. Upon being revived, police reported that Ray was disoriented and was not able to speak much. Aside from the dehydration and the tremendous weight loss, he appeared to be in good condition. Officer Paolo Gianinni, one of the officers who discovered Mr. Enzè, spoke to reporters at the hospital and said that there did not appear to be any severe injuries. His wrists were bruised, as were his legs, and the skin around his mouth looked extremely chapped, indicating he had been tied up and gagged for an extended period of time.
Police are hopeful that as Ray D. Enzè recovers he may be able to provide some explanation for what exactly happened. For now, doctors are confident that the NLN and Aurora Borealis beat writer will make a full recovery and may soon return to his active duties with the newspaper.
