10 Game Hotty

By Aron Rocke, Yuma Times

8/14/2009: YUMA, AZ – The Yuma Bulldozers have caught another hot streak, defeating the Bakersfield Bears in three straight games at home and taking two of three from Fargo.  Not only that, but the ‘Dozers hung with Kalamazoo until the top of the 11th in the start of their latest home stint.  In their last 10 games, Yuma has won 6.

Bakersfield was defeated handily, with Yuma winning 8-4 in game 1, 17-5 in game 2 and 9-1 in game 3 for a total of 34-10 in 3 games.  “We seemed to catch a brief groove there,” says GM Jared Dobney, “and I really hope we can keep up some momentum.  Even though it’s too late for us this season, I want to see some improvement out of this club and try and get encouragement built up for next year.”

Dobney and the Bulldozers have to finish out their home stint against Kalamazoo, then go to Canton to play one of their inter-familial rivals, the Longshoremen.  Laughing, Ja.  Dobney commented, “What the (oopsie) is a Longshoreman?  From the logo it looks like a rejected adult film star.  And from the way they play, maybe they are.”  Said Brad Dobney in an exclusive interview, “What?  Did he insult our logo?  I designed it myse-… feet are cool.  You know, you can’t get nowhere without no feet.  That’s why I eat hot dogs.  If you put stadium mustard on a hot dog, it tastes like snakes scare the stuffing out of me.”

Though we got nothing out of Dobney, the trip to Canton was not wasted.  The Hartville Kitchen?  Delicious!  Anyway, for Yuma, from Yuma, Aron Rocke.
