The 21-year-old right fielder put up a .382 average and a .478 on-base percentage, piling up 58 hits, 16 doubles, 1 triple, 8 home runs, 26 RBIs and 38 runs scored. |  | Aoyama Gakuin Hurler Wins TM Outstanding Pitcher Award Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011: He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Shojiro Ishii performed like a veteran on the hill for the Aoyama Gakuin Mighty Missionaries and walked away with the Tokyo Metropolitan Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process.
The 18-year-old Mighty Missionaries star fashioned a 8-0 won-loss record in 2011 with a 2.37 ERA. In 57 innings of work and 10 starts, Ishii struck out 54 while giving up 34 hits and 25 walks. He held opposing batters to a .176 average. | | | | |
