BREAKING NEWS  | Kobayashi Rips Kuwana for 5 Hits

At Steelfire Stadium Hiroji Kobayashi was the King of Swing today in the 14-1 win over the Steel Dragons. The Seoul right fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Kuwana and delivered 5 hits.
It was a sensational game for him. He told the press, "Unbelievable feeling. It felt good. 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average, too."
Hiroji Kobayashi singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
For the year Kobayashi has hit .359 with no home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 6 runs. |
 | Katsumi Hayagawa Hurt, Out of Action

Kure fans held their breath as Katsumi Hayagawa left yesterday's Evas-Arsenal contest with an injury. After the game, the team's medical staff said that the 27-year-old center fielder had suffered an elbow sprain while making a defensive play. It's estimated that he will be out 6 weeks.
So far this year Hayagawa is hitting .250 with 4 home runs. |
 | Top Bright Blade Group Newcomer Named

The Bright Blade Group made the official announcement today. The Rookie of the Month award went to Francisco López of Kuwana. He was named the best rookie in July.
Last month the 26-year-old Steel Dragons center fielder played in 26 games and hit .351 with 4 doubles, no triples and 4 home runs. López also scored 9 times and drove in 14 runs.
López has collected 81 hits for the Steel Dragons this year, 5 of them home runs. He has also netted 29 RBIs and scored 29 runs while batting .299. |
