Despite the fact that Luis Bonilla is 33, he made a big splash by putting up solid numbers to win Imperial League Rookie of the Month honors. He told BNN reporters at the press conference, "I'm thrilled beyond words. All I can say is... better late than never." In June, the San Juan first baseman hit .303 while rapping out 30 hits, 3 home runs, 16 RBIs and 9 runs scored. Thus far this year Bonilla has hit .266 with 15 home runs and 60 RBIs. |
