Alleghenies, Maulers Close Deal Wednesday, November 29th, 2028 According to BNN there were mixed emotions by the players involved in the trade between the West Virginia Alleghenies and the Manchester Maulers. As part of the deal, the Alleghenies swapped 29-year-old minor league RHP Herman Hinkle, 30-year-old minor league LF Gerald Avery, 34-year-old LHP Gunner MacGruder, a 4th round draft pick and $4,000,000 in cash to the Maulers getting 18-year-old minor league C Denis Livingston in return. The players indicated it was good to get a fresh new start in another city, but it was difficult to leave your friends on the old team. In his career MacGruder has compiled an ERA of 2.85 with 146 victories and 73 defeats and has held opponents to a .232 batting average. He also has struck out 1982 batters in 2107.1 innings and given up 1843 hits. |
