Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Leones-Thoroughbreds game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Havana right fielder Claudio Hernández thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Havana to a 6-4 win over Kentucky.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Hernández said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Hernández was 3-for-3 on the day with 4 RBI.
Claudio Hernández hit a solo-shot off Ramón Téllez in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ramón Téllez in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ramón Téllez in the 5th and walked in the 7th.
To date, Hernández has collected 159 hits for a .277 average. He has posted 38 home runs, scored 93 runs and driven in 101 runs.
