Owens Slams 5 Hits for Kalamazoo Thursday, May 18th, 2028 Fans at Portage Park got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season. The Kalamazoo Badgers outplayed the Fargo Dinosaurs en route to a 8-7 win, but the standout was right fielder Jake Owens. Owens netted 5 hits in 8 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line. "Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Dinosaurs manager Kenny Butler said in his postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too." Jake Owens doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, grounded out in the 10th, grounded out in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 13th.
