Jiménez Career Ended by Major Injury Sunday, August 1st, 2027 The expression on his face said it all when starting pitcher Arturo Jiménez was injured throwing a pitch today in a game at The Chocolate Factory at Yum! Field against Kalamazoo. You could tell that this was no minor injury. Jiménez was examined quickly by the team doctor and immediately rushed to the local hospital. After several tests, the diagnosis was a torn rotator cuff, and in this case, it means his career is over. The Bakersfield Bears issued the following statement: "It is with great sadness that we see Arturo ending his career due to injury. He was a great competitor and teammate and will be missed by the Bears organization." Jiménez is 30 years old. So far this season, Jiménez has logged a 5-7 record with a 3.28 ERA.
