Shimizu's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games

Okitsugu Shimizu has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 27-year-old New Orleans Trendsetters center fielder extended his streak today to 20 games, going 1-for-4 as New Orleans got the best of the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo at Elysian Fields, 3-1.

"Okitsugu has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Trendsetters manager Mike Whiteman said.
Okitsugu Shimizu struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

For the season, Shimizu is hitting at a .305 clip with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and has scored 25 runs. He has 65 hits, 11 walks and a .339 on-base percentage.
