Martínez Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Friday, September 26th, 2025 It was a sensational day at the plate for Francisco Martínez as he led the charge to a 12-2 win over the Zephyrs. The Neo-Tokyo shortstop was pure misery for the Reno pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Martínez put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Tony Carmona, manager for the Zephyrs, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Francisco Martínez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
