Late Magic Gets Portland 4-3 Win
The Portland Chinook did just enough to sneak past the Sacramento Deltas, 4-3, at Kauffman Stadium. Portland pitcher Ben McLaughlin, in particular, had a standout performance. The win was credited to Jerome Evans in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Félix González took the loss. Portland is last in the Humboldt with a record of 29-52.

The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the 11th. On a pitch from Félix González, Kazuhiro Sakurai hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Portland the 4-3 win.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Sakurai said.
