The West Virginia Alleghenies topped the Kentucky Thoroughbreds, 6-0, in Imperial League action at Raceway Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of West Virginia pitcher José Flores. Flores went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 10-5. The current losing streak for Kentucky has reached 5 games.
West Virginia relied on the hitting of Javier Drake to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the Alleghenies on top, 4-0. For the game, Drake had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Flores told the West Virginia Bulletin.
