Deltas Beat Chinook, 6-1
|
Sacramento Deltas starter Steve Struck turned in an exceptional performance against the Portland Chinook at Devils Ballpark, resulting in a Sacramento win, 6-1. In 5 innings, Struck surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Sacramento is now 35-31, Portland 25-41.
Dale Harris had a big bases-clearing double for the Deltas in the bottom of the first inning. With Sacramento leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from Bayesa Msamaki and swatted a double to left. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Deltas ahead, 4-0.
Harris called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
