The Aix-Marseille Universite Geckos and Instituto Politecnico Nacional Mules completed their game despite the inclement weather.

The Geckos grabbed a win, 4-2, at College Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Instituto Politecnico Nacional pitcher Fernando Vega. Vega went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Gérard Léonard earned the save, his 4th.

Had Abel Parent not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Parent hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Geckos.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Parent. "And not try to do too much."

Aix-Marseille Universite is now 6-11.
