The Cambridge Light Blues took Pontificia Universidad pitcher Takahashi Sasaki's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pointers Ballpark. The final score had Cambridge getting past the Padres, 2-1. Sasaki went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 1. With the win, the Light Blues improved to 4-8.
Cambridge used a clutch hit from Alonso Bernal to get the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Light Blues ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"Runs were at a premium," said Cambridge manager Scott Simpson.
