Instituto Politecnico Nacional catcher José Yánez was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Hamilton Canada beat the Mules, 5-4. Hamilton Canada reliever Tom Whiteway got the win, raising his record to 1-0. John Curwen was tagged with the loss. The loss drops Instituto Politecnico Nacional to 4-5.

The Terrors were down to their final out when second baseman Patrick Smith turned a first pitch fastball from John Curwen into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double made the Terrors Ballpark crowd go wild.
