Koalas Bump Off Mighty Missionaries, 5-4
|
A good performance from first baseman Ho-win Yang helped the University of Queensland Koalas defeat the Aoyama Gakuin Mighty Missionaries, 5-4. Yang went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Koalas. The winner was Alastair Rollings in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Christiaan Krol took the loss. University of Queensland now owns a record of 20-19.
University of Queensland grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Reginald Ryan delivered a 2-run single, to make it 5-3 in favor of the Koalas.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Yang.
