Chinook Stick Oilers with 3-2 Loss
|
Portland picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, bumping off the Long Beach Oilers, 3-2. Pitcher Larry Emerson was a major reason the Chinook emerged victorious. With the victory, the Chinook record now stands at 22-37.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when shortstop Yoshitoshi Suzuki, who is a two-time All-Star, hit a triple. The Chinook went on to win.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Suzuki.
