Boise Remuda starter Jesús Merlano pitched his team past the Sacramento Deltas, 6-1. The second-place Remuda have a record of 29-19.

It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Merlano, who tallied 9 strikeouts in 8.2 innings and allowed only 2 hits. Merlano, who led the HUM in saves with 40 in 2030, raised his record to 7-2 on the year with 63 strikeouts.

"I had a good game plan," said Merlano. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Gilberto Caro said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
