El Ray Wins, 7-5, in Extra Innings
|
The El Ray Vampiros had to overcome a fine effort from Ciudad Acuna pitcher Júlio Ramos to grab a narrow 7-5 win at Mariachis Ballpark. Ramos went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. El Ray, at 14-15, occupies 5th place in the Zona Sur.
El Ray used the timely hitting of Ernesto López to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Vampiros on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win," said López. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
