Duluth Hot Streak Continues with 2-0 Win
|
Duluth picked up a win at Doyle Buhl Stadium, bumping off the Okinawa Shisa, 2-0. Pitcher René Padilla was a major reason the Warriors emerged victorious. Duluth leads the Sovereign League Great Lakes by 3 games.
The Shisa had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Warriors going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old shortstop Noah Hill came to the plate. Hill hit a solo home run on a 3-1 fastball from Okinawa hurler Shou Saitou. It was Hill's 2nd home run of the year.
"I expect to carry this team on my shoulders at times," said Padilla.
