Olympians Lose, 3-2
|
Pete Bell had a good game, but he could not keep the Nagano Olympians from falling, 3-2, to the Marduk Nerv at Nagano Olympic Stadium. The Nagano first baseman went 1 for 2 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Ton Murray picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 3-3. Jack Harris closed the door for Marduk, picking up his 9th save of the year.
Javier Lara, the 23-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Lara contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Marduk up, 3-2.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Lara.
Marduk, at 22-27, holds down third place in the Baja Cali League Japanese.
