Augusto Peña was instrumental in his team's 8-1 triumph over the Salton Sea Kilmers. The second baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Takaoka Shiko. Takaoka pitcher Ki-chun Ch'oe got the win, upping his record to 5-0. Louie Young got the loss. The Shiko improved to 21-17.
Takaoka relied on the hitting of Cisco Díaz to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shiko on top, 1-0. For the game, Díaz had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Peña told the Takaoka Citizen.
