Islanders Beat Sensei, 3-0
|
Ichiro Koumura pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Tennoji HS Sensei, despite Koumura's fine outing, dropped a 3-0 decision to the Zhoushan HS Islanders at The Institute. Dongdo-pa Chen, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. The save went to Jiao-long Zhu, number 5 for him.
Tak-hing Sun's at-bat in the top of the eighth was significant for the Islanders. Coming to the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd and Zhoushan HS leading 1-0, the Islanders shortstop hit a 2-run double.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Sun told the Zhoushan HS Daily.
Today's win puts Zhoushan HS at 11-9, while Tennoji HS falls to 11-9.
