Rikkyo University picked up a win at Field of the Angels, bumping off the University of Sydney Wallabies, 4-1. Pitcher Takuji Hirano was a major reason the Bishops emerged victorious. Rikkyo University reliever Mitchell Message was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Jun Ohashi. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Okakura Abe.

Rikkyo University took a 2-0 lead on Kei Ikeda's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Ikeda hit in the bottom of the seventh, left University of Sydney pitcher Vince Barrowcliff visibly frustrated.

Ikeda attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

Rikkyo University, at 9-7, occupies second place in the Pacific League Tokyo Big6 Division.
