Washington Beats Rutgers, 4-3
|
The Washington Montlake Malamutes weathered an outstanding game by Rutgers first baseman Ernest Wright to topple the Old Queens, 4-3. Wright went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jason Lowe got the save, the 2nd for him this season. Washington is now 26-28.
Tony Harrison, the 19-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Harrison contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Washington up, 4-3.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Harrison said. "That's how it goes."
