Rice beat Cincinnati on the strength of starter Mike O'Neil's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. In 6 innings, O'Neil surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. The win elevated the Puddings to 24-20.
Randy West, who is tied for 7th in the USCBA COL in stolen bases with 10, aided the Rice cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 1-3 with a double.
