Northwestern Topples Seton Hall, 2-0
|
The Northwestern Purple Haze picked up a win at Purple Haze Ballpark, knocking off the Seton Hall Rampage, 2-0. Starting pitcher Ben Ford was a big reason why. Ford picked up the win for Northwestern, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. Orlando López nailed down his 12th save.
Carl Perkins drove in one run for Northwestern. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the seventh, Perkins came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Purple Haze in front, 1-0.
"Winning is the only objective," said Perkins after the game.
The Purple Haze are now 23-17, while the Rampage fall to 18-22.
