Pitcher Craig Spence was sensational for the Rice Puddings in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Washington State Palouse Knights. Spence picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Spence, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The Puddings, at 22-16, sit in second place in the American Heartland Conference.

Rice relied on the hitting of David Vázquez to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Puddings on top, 1-0. For the game, Vázquez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
