Hardy Lifts Lucky Rodents to 9-8 Win
Axe Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Minnesota Lucky Rodents and Stanford Axe.

In a high-scoring game between Minnesota and Stanford, second baseman Bob Hardy was a difference-maker. The 19-year-old helped Minnesota grab the 9-8 win. He went 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Minnesota reliever Peter Massey picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Dave Carter shouldered the loss.

Minnesota took a 9-8 lead on Thomas Hall's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Hall hit in the top of the seventh, left Stanford pitcher Dave Carter shaking his head.

In comments to the Minnesota Gazette, Hardy admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."

Minnesota has now won 4 straight.
