Lions Top Leones, 7-1
|
Amsterdam rode a fine outing from starter Richard Neely to victory over the Havana Leones at Campos Peloteros. The final score was 7-1. Neely went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-2. Amsterdam is now 23-17. Havana is 16-23.
Jorge Aguilar had a big 2-run double for the Lions in the top of the third inning. With Amsterdam leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Jason Baker and swatted a double to center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lions ahead, 5-0.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Aguilar said.
