Rulluda Powers Battleships to 6-5 Win
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Bismarck Battleships eventually prevailed.
The Bismarck Battleships defeated the Alexandria Macedonians, 6-5, at Macedonians Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Bismarck was center fielder Jay Rulluda. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Miguel Medina earned the save for Bismarck, his 10th.
Rulluda had a timely hit for Bismarck in the top of the ninth. With Alexandria trailing 5-3, he turned a 3-1 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 6-5, Bismarck.
"Good win for us," said Rulluda. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
The Battleships now own a record of 17-23.
