Behind a fine performance from Jhong-shun Zheng, the Maine Lobsters knocked off the Omaha Insurers, 7-2. Zheng went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 for the Lobsters. Valentín Lepro, the winning pitcher, is now 11-6. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 4. The first-place Lobsters, at 68-34, now lead their division by 5½ games.
The Lobsters got an important contribution from second baseman Corey Gorman, who in the top of the fourth hit a fastball into right for a 2-run double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Lobsters ahead, 5-0.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Gorman.
