The Omaha Insurers got a strong performance from pitcher Roberto Guzmán, who stymied the Liverpool offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Liverpool Baseball Stadium. Guzmán, the winner, moves to 3-10. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 5 walks. With the win, Omaha goes to 35-64, while the Beatles fall to 53-45.
It could have been a different outcome for Omaha, had it not been for António Montoya, the 22-year old center fielder . Montoya contributed a 2-run triple in the top of the fourth inning to put Omaha up, 6-1.
In comments to the Omaha Today, Montoya insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
