The Bowling Green Rebels took Delaware pitcher Yi-lin Lu's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Deleware. The final score had Bowling Green getting past the Diamonds, 3-2. Lu went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 10. The third-place Rebels improved to 31-32.
The outcome might have been different for Bowling Green, had it not been for Ewan Croucher, the 22-year old right fielder . Croucher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Bowling Green up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Croucher. "Just do my job."
