Monterey Topples Maine, 4-1

The Monterey Sea Lions picked up a win at Monterey Grounds, knocking off the Maine Lobsters, 4-1. On the mound for Monterey was left-hander John Sharp, who played a pivotal role in the win. The save went to Pedro Delgado, number 2 for him. The Sea Lions saw their win-loss record go to 16-46. At the same time, the Lobsters fell to 42-20.
The Sea Lions got a big hit from designated hitter José Sosa. In the bottom of the fifth, Sosa pounded a 2-run home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season put the Sea Lions ahead, 4-1.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Sharp.
