Diamonds Deal Sea Lions 6-5 Loss
The Delaware Diamonds did just enough to sneak past the Monterey Sea Lions, 6-5, at Monterey Grounds. Delaware pitcher Minoru Suzuki, in particular, had a standout performance. Delaware reliever Rich Kinnult picked up the win, upping his record to 1-5. Roberto Flores absorbed the loss. With the win, Delaware goes to 24-26, while the Sea Lions fall to 13-37.

Lucas van Hal was 2-4 with 2 singles and 3 walks for Delaware. The 26-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 12th. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Roberto Flores. It was his 20th walk of the season.

"It was terrific getting this win," Suzuki said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
