Big Day for Sánchez in 7-5 Rushmores Win
With designated hitter Jesús Sánchez leading the charge, the Rapid City Rushmores defeated the Drumright Tornadoes, 7-5, at Ballpark of Drumright. Sánchez hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Ching Yei, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. Takashi Nakai nailed down his 1st save.

Had Chester Bowers not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Bowers hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Rushmores.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Sánchez, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
