Anguirus Prevail, 2-1, Over Racine
|
Fernando García never let the Lakers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Anguirus to a win, 2-1. Reliever José Nufio picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Guido Westerbos took the loss. Shizuoka has now won 3 straight, while the Lakers have lost 3 in a row.
Shizuoka center fielder Francisco Fernández delivered a solo home run in the top of the seventh. Overall, he went 3 for 4, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 1.
"It was a solid team effort," said García after the game.
