|
Niigata Gigans starter Jorge Salinas was on his game, helping his team beat the Iowa City Kingpins, 3-2. Niigata has a record of 18-18, placing them 4th in the Rocky Mountain League Pacific.
Runs were at a premium. So, Yong-u Ton's at-bat with one out in the top of the tenth was crucial. The Niigata designated hitter hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Salinas told the Niigata Bulletin. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
