Sun Dogs Take Down Rodan, 4-3
|
The Thornton Sun Dogs and Kyoto Rodan played an exciting game.
The Kyoto Rodan got a superb performance from pitcher Naozane Sakai, but the Thornton Sun Dogs still won the game, 4-3. Sakai threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. After losing, Kyoto is 11-6.
The Sun Dogs used some clutch hitting to beat the Rodan, a good example being the at-bat of Lucas MacHendrie in the bottom of the eighth. With two down, MacHendrie gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he hit a bases-clearing double.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," MacHendrie told the Thornton Observer.
