Glendale Wins, Michelozzi 3-4
|
The Glendale Skyelanders beat the West Valley City Grizzlies by a score of 7-3. Glendale first baseman Galimberto Michelozzi deserved the lion's share of the credit. Michelozzi was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Skyelanders. The winner was John Bradley, who threw 106 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. West Valley City is 11-6 after the loss.
Michelozzi had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Gilberto Flores, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Skyelanders a 7-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Michelozzi.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Michelozzi told the Glendale News.
