The Duluth Warriors got a superb performance from pitcher René Padilla, but the Aurora Borealis still won the game, 5-2. Padilla threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Barry Rodríguez picked up the win in relief for Aurora, while Roberto Cisneros took the loss. The save went to Héctor Gutiérrez, number 4 for him.
Aurora took control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Raúl Muñóz hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Borealis.
Muñóz said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
Aurora has a mark of 12-8 after the win.
