The Raleigh El Dorados got a magnificent performance from pitcher Brock Southey, who muffled the Fayetteville offense en route to a tight 3-0 El Dorados win at El Dorado Field. Bob Hodge earned the save, his 12th. Raleigh, at 66-66, sits in 4th place in the Appalachian Mountain League East.

The El Dorados got a lift from catcher Tom Schmidt, who in the bottom of the fifth stroked a 1-1 splitter into center for a run-scoring single. It was his 22nd hit of the season and put the El Dorados ahead, 2-0.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Schmidt.
