Navarro, Locomotives Too Much for Tri-Staters
|
No one was more impactful than Corey Navarro in the 5-0 Leeds win over Evansville. Navarro, who is tied for 8th in the AML in extra base hits with 51, was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The save went to Sergio Ramírez, his 4th this season. Leeds now sits in last place in the Appalachian Mountain League Europe and Islands at 40-86.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Locomotives found themselves in a jam. Evansville had runners on 1st and 2nd with two out. The score was 3-0, Leeds. Will David was at the plate, hoping to deal the Locomotives a serious blow. Instead, he popped out to end the threat.
