Andy Edwards helped his team muscle past the Victoria Orcas, 5-1. In the game, the Boise left fielder was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jesús Merlano got the win, improving to 3-0. He worked 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Herb Williams collected his 6th save.
Had Sjoerd Lubbers not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lubbers hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Remuda.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Edwards said.
Boise, with the win, is 10-3.
